After a Master in Formal Linguistics at Paris VIII, Viviane Deprez obtained a PhD from the Massachussets Institute of Technology, in 1990. She has worked at the university of Massachussetts at Amherst, then at Rutgers University. She coordinates the group on "Compared morpho-syntax and semantics of natural languages" at the Institute for Cognitive Science, Lyon.
