Sue Hespos conducts experiments on adults and infants to compare the nature and limitations of their representations focusing on the ability to represent objects, spatial relationships, and number. She is interested in the core cognitive capacities that develop in infancy and are used as adults, with an emphasis on developmental continuity in the representation mechanisms guiding these behaviors.
