Roberta de Monticelli is Professor of Philosophy at the Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele in Milan; she concentrates on issues of personal identity. She has contributed to reinterpreting traditional phenomenology in light of earlier thinkers such as Augustine. More recently, she has developed a theory of identity and personhood that takes on board the philosophy of mind and the neurosciences.
