Trained as logician, philosopher and computer scientist, Peter Gärdenfors has contributed to most of the areas of research of contemporary cognitive science: Philosophy of science, decision theory, belief revision and nonmonotonic reasoning, as well as concept formation (using conceptual spaces based on geometrical and topological models), cognitive semantics, models of knowledge and information (including the relation between natural human information codes and computer codes), and the evolution of cognition. His most recent book: How homo became sapiens: On the evolution of thinking, Oxford University Press, 2003.
