Paul is co-founder and technical director of Digital Solutions, a software company specialising in mobile and internet applications, and their application in less developed settings.
Founded in 1999, Digital Solutions has implemented a number of applications, including the flagship shared-use/cyber café management software Butterfly (1999), the Pinnacle SMS Information Services platform (2001), the open source Mbuni MMS Gateway (2004), and the Baraza Mobile Instant Messaging Server (2008).

Baraza is a free Instance Messaging system for Java-enabled mobile phones designed by Digital Solutions . Baraza implements the Instant Messaging and Presence Services (IMPS) protocol suite defined by the Open Mobile Alliance.
