Patrick Bazin is Curator of Libraries in France and Director of the Municipal Library of Lyon. He has long been interested in the relationship between technology and knowledge and in the impact of NTICs on books and libraries. He took part in research with the future BPI on computer-assisted reading in the early '90s, and has been active in promoting the use of Internet and digital technologies in the Bibliothèque de Lyon. He is the author most recently of " La mémoire reconfigurée " (Cahiers de médiologie, 2001).
