UBC Philosophy Department
Nola Semczyszyn is a PhD student at the University of British Columbia working with Dominic Lopes. Her main areas of interest are in philosophy of art and philosophy of science. In her PhD thesis she will examine pictorial and epistemic content in MRI and fMRI images, and what it means to say that these images are pictures of the brain if we are justified in calling them that. She is also currently researching visual content in scientific models, and emotional response to non-representational works of art.
