Mohan Matthen is Professor of Philosophy at the University of British Columbia. He has worked on perception: his book, Seeing, Doing, Knowing: A Philosophical Theory of Sense-Perception has just appeared from Oxford University Press. He has also worked on the philosophy of biology, with recent contributions to discussion of causation, natural kinds, and essences in the theory of evolution. Currently, he is engaged in research on object-perception and on memory.
