Lars Lundqvist is Professor of Spatial Systems Analysis within the Division of Systems Analysis and Economics, Unit for Transport and Location Analysis in the Department of Infrastructure, Royal Institute of Technology. Previously, he was active in the Research Group for Urban and Regional Planning, Department of Mathematics, 1969-1989 (from 1978 as leader) and was adjunct professor in Systems Analysis of Settlements and Transportation 1989-1992 and 1994-1997 within the Division of Regional Planning. Between 1998 and 2000 he was acting professor of Spatial Systems Analysis and head of the Division of Transport and Location Analysis. His main areas of research include strategic analyses of urban and regional systems, integrated analysis of land-use, transportation and the environment, infrastructure and regional development, spatial modelling and geographical information systems. He is active in national, Nordic, Baltic, European and world-wide research networks in these areas and is the co-editor of nine internationally published books.
