Kathleen Fitzpatrick is Associate Professor of English and Media Studies at Pomona College in Claremont, California, and is a founder and co-coordinating editor of MediaCommons, a digital scholarly publishing network in media studies. Her first book, _The Anxiety of Obsolescence: The American Novel in the Age of Television_, was published by Vanderbilt University Press in 2006. She is currently working on a book-length project focused on the social and institutional changes in the American academy that will be required for digital scholarly publishing to take root.
