Judith Simon
PhD student

Judith Simon (*1977) is university assistant at the Department of Philosophy, Research Group Philosophy of Science: Cultures and Technologies of Knowledge, University of Vienna since May 2005. She is currently working on her PhD-thesis on notions of knowledge, trust and sociality in social epistemology on the one hand and social software on the other. Judith Simon has studied psychology in combination with philosophy, literature and media studies at the universities of Marburg, Berlin and Waterloo/Canada before receiving her MSc in Psychology in 2002 from the Free University Berlin. After completing her studies she has worked as a freelance worker in usability testing of software applications. From 2003 till 2005 she has been research assistant in the research group "Humans, Environment, Technology" (MUT: Mensch, Umwelt, Technik) of the research center Juelich, where she spent 2 years primarily on technology assessment on stem cell research. From March till September 2008 she has been a visiting scholar at Stanford University's Forum on Contemporary Europe.
