John Collins` primary research is the interface of generative linguistics with philosophy of language and mind; in particular, he is
interested in the concept of 'representation/content' in computational
explanation and natural language semantics. He approaches these issues from a
'minimalist' perspective and has an interest in the historical development of generative linguistics generally. He also writes on nativism
and the concept of truth.
