Jan Cornelis (°1950) is Professor in electronics, medical imaging and digital image processing at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), director of the department of Electronics and Informatics Processing ETRO at the Faculty of Engineering Sciences, and coordinator of the research group on image processing and machine vision – IRIS. He recently became involved in the management of research and innovation as Vice-rector for research at the VUB. He is Member of the board of directors of the Interuniversity MicroElectronics Centre – IMEC in Leuven.
