HEIKO HECHT studied psychology and philosophy at the universities of Trier, Germany, and Virginia, USA. After his dissertation (Experimental Psychology) he worked as research scientist and lecturer at the Max-Planck Institut für Psychologische Forschung, NASA Ames Research Center, Universität Bielefeld, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Since 2002 Heiko Hecht holds the chair of Experimental Psychology at the Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz, Germany.
