Gerd Hirzinger
Gerd Hirzinger is director at DLR’s Institute of Robotics and Mechatronics and adjunct professor at the Technical University of Munich. He has published more than 200 papers in robotics, mainly on robot sensing, sensory feedback, mechatronics, man-machine interfaces, telerobotics and space robotics. He was prime investigator of the space robot technology experiment ROTEX and received numerous national and international awards (the “Joe Engelberger Award”, the “Japan Robotics Association Award", the “Leibniz Award”, the “Karl-Heinz Beckurts Award” for outstanding technology transfer, the “IEEE Fellow Award”)
