During his 33 years at Iowa, Ed Wasserman has investigated topics such as autoshaping and memory in pigeons, as well as categorization and abstract same-different conceptualization in pigeons, baboons, and humans. Many of his recent writings have considered the place of comparative cognition in contemporary psychology. Wasserman has also studied human causal learning from an associative point of view.
