Chris Sinha`s central research interest is in the relations between language, cognition and culture, and a main aim of his research is to integrate cognitive linguistic with socio-cultural approaches to language and communication, including its acquisition and development. He is currently Partner leader for the University of Portsmouth in the EU 6th Framework NEST/Pathfinder Project “Stages in the Evolution and Development of Sign Use”, funded under the “What it Means to be Human” programme. He is President of the UK Cognitive Linguistics Association.
